The Story of Firefighter Peter and the Big Rescue

In a small town beneath the mountains lived a firefighter named Peter. Every morning, he put on his red jacket with shiny reflective stripes, placed his helmet on his head, and checked the hose to make sure it was ready. Peter loved his job. Not just because it could be exciting, but most of all because he could help people.

One sunny day, the loud sound of the fire station siren rang out.
“Attention, a small shed is on fire at the edge of town!” announced the chief. Peter jumped into the fire truck, the engine roared, and off they went.

When they arrived, luckily no one was hurt. Peter quickly unrolled the hose, gripped it tightly, and began spraying water onto the flames.
“Water against fire. That’s our team!” he smiled, and kept going until the very last spark was gone.

The shed’s owner walked up to Peter, shook his hand, and said:
“Thank you, you didn’t just save my shed, you saved all my tools.”
Peter just smiled: “That’s my job. And also my joy.”

That evening, Peter poured himself a cup of tea, sat by the window, and looked up at the stars. He thought about how being a firefighter isn’t only about putting out fires. It’s about courage, quick decisions, and helping wherever it’s needed.

Short version for little adventurers

In a small town, there lived a firefighter named Peter. He wore a red jacket and loved his job, because he could help people.

One day, a siren rang out loudly: “Vou, vou, vou!” A small shed was on fire. Peter jumped into the fire truck, and they drove off to the fire.

When they arrived, Peter quickly unrolled the hose and sprayed water on the flames. “Water against fire!” he smiled, and didn’t stop until every last spark was gone.

The shed’s owner thanked him. Peter was so happy he could help. That evening, he thought about how great it is to be a firefighter.

Little Artist’s Challenge

What colour should Peter’s helmet be? Can you draw the drops of water falling on the flames? Imagine you’re a little firefighter. What would you wear? How would you hold the hose? If you’d like, draw Peter’s fire truck and the fire station too!
