The Story of Stella the Rocket and Her Space Adventure

In a deep, dark garage stood a rocket. But not just any rocket. This one had a big, smiling face on her side and her name was Stella. Stella had a large round window for looking out into the world, and powerful thrusters at her base that, when fired, sent out a huge burst of flame. She knew a great adventure awaited her. She wanted to fly all the way to where the stars and planets lived.

One night, when the sky sparkled with stars, Stella woke up.
“Good morning, stars! Today’s the day I’m coming to visit you!” she called excitedly. She swayed from side to side to stretch her body and tooted: “Boom, boom, boom!” That was her way of saying she was ready for launch.

Her thrusters glowed with bright orange and red light, and Stella began to rise. “Psssssssst!” she hissed as she lifted off the ground, then zipped higher and higher. She flew so fast that she left all the fluffy white clouds far below, waving up at her like sheep in the sky.

Above the clouds, the sky wasn’t blue anymore. It was black, sprinkled with sparkling stars. “Wow… it’s beautiful!” Stella whispered. She saw Mars, as red as a strawberry, and Saturn with its beautiful ring. Then she spotted a tiny golden star. “Hi there, little star! I’m looking for friends to fly with. Do you want to join me?” Stella asked. The star twinkled even brighter and began to dance with her among the planets. It was like a big, silent dance no one on Earth could see.

They flew together for hours, drifting past comets and dodging shiny little asteroids that sparkled like diamonds. Stella felt like the freest rocket in the universe. When she finally grew tired, the little star said goodbye and promised to meet her again tomorrow.

Stella slowly returned to Earth, landing back in her garage spot. She felt so happy. “Oh, what a wonderful adventure,” she murmured. “I can’t wait to fly again tomorrow. Maybe I’ll meet another friend who can help me with a very important mission…”

Short version for little adventurers

A little rocket named Stela stood in the garage. Stela had a big, round window to look outside. She wanted to fly to the stars! “Boom, boom, boom!” Stela lit up and flew upwards. She whooshed quickly above the white clouds and reached the dark sky full of sparkling stars. She saw the red planet Mars and a little golden star. “Hello, little star! Do you want to play with me?” she asked. The star twinkled and began to dance with Stela. Together, they flew around shiny asteroids. When she got tired, Stela returned back to Earth. She landed in her garage, happy after such a wonderful adventure.

Challenge for Little Artists

Dear little friend, can you see Stella? She’s waiting for you to color her in. What colors will you choose? Will she be bright orange like the flames that carried her up, or shiny silver like a real rocket? And don’t forget her thrusters full of fire! Color in her big round window so she can see the stars. Grab your crayons, markers, or watercolors and make Stella even happier. Once she’s colored in, she’ll come to life and smile at you even more.
